Calaveras Big Trees Association in partnership with Save the Redwood League hosted a hardy group of interested astronomers on Thursday evening  October 11.

CBTA is proud to be partnering with Save the Redwoods League as they recognize the 100th anniversary of Save the Redwoods League and celebrate the conservation legacy to protect California’s incredible coast redwood and giant sequoia forests in the last century.

Docents shared information and told stories as everyone gazed at the night sky. Two telescopes and astronomical binoculars gave you a closer look at the moon, planets and deep sky objects. A telescope webcam showed images on a 40-inch monitor in real time.

Thanks to Save the Redwood League for the blankets and goodies they provided all star watchers.
