Beginning October 22 and ending November 9, 2018, the Department of Parks and Recreation will be conducting a series of prescribed burns within Calaveras Big Trees State Park in cooperation with CalFire for vegetation management, hazardous fuel load reduction, wildlife habitat improvement and enhancing the health of the forest by removing diseased materials and reducing the chance of catastrophic wild land fire.
