Celebrates: Folk-Rock
This year, featuring Blind Dog:
Blind Dog, a 5-piece acoustic guitar band from Livermore, plays contemporary folk music, Celtic folk/rock, blues, and country. Three women and two men cover songs by a variety of artists, including Kate Wolf, Lucinda Williams, James Taylor, Howlin’ Wolf, Mary Black, Neil Young, the Beatles, Ryan Adams, Carter Family, John Prine, Fleetwood Mac, and others–plus a few original tunes. Blind Dog features 3- and 4-part vocal harmonies with instrumentation by Carrie Seng (fiddle and mandolin), Frankie Tate (bass and harmonica), Rosie Turner (percussion), Stu Frazier (guitar), and Tim Peck (guitar and dobro). Blind Dog has played at coffee houses, wineries, festivals, and folk concerts in the Bay Area for the past 25 years. All of the band members love spending time at Calaveras Big Trees and two members, Frankie and Tim, are docents at the Park.
