Today the Central Valley District activated its Emergency Operations Center (EOC) in order to fully functionalize our response to the COVID-19 situation. This specialized organization of staff allows us to make focused and efficient decisions about the care and operation of our parks.

With the constantly evolving COVID-19 situation including school closures, Governor’s Orders, and the general health of our staff, volunteers, and visitors, the Central Valley District EOC IC made a decision to close the following museums and visitor centers:

Mining and Mineral Museum
Columbia State Historic Park Museum
Indian Grinding Rock SHP Museum
Calaveras Big Trees State Park Visitor Center, Warming Hut, and Education Room
Railtown 1897 State Historic Park Depot and Store

This will take effect Tuesday, March 17, 2020 and the listed facilities will stay closed until further notice.
