SUMMARY:A Day in the Park
DESCRIPTION:Calaveras Big Trees Association Presents A Day in the Park on Saturday\, August 19\, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. \nBring your family and friends to a fun-filled afternoon of music by the local favorite\, Magnolia Rhythm Trio. They will be performing from 12 – 2 at the Campfire Center. \nDelicious barbeque will be available prepared by Big Boys BBQ’IN.  Food will be available in front of Jack Knight Hall from 11 – 3. \nColumbia State Park reenactors will be on hand to share everyday life in the 1870s. The Columbia State Park rangers and docents will also be sharing old-time games from the 1800s. This event will be held in the area between the campfire center and Jack Knight Hall. Come join the fun! \n

SUMMARY:Weekly Photography Program-Wednesdays
DESCRIPTION:About this program\nThe weekly Photography Program began with the 2016 season as an idea for docents & locals to  experience the park\, although anyone is welcome to attend (but not recommended for children under 12). \nEach week focuses on a different theme\, and for 2017 we are expanding to include different areas of the park. The location where to meet at 9am is given for each Wednesday on the schedule. \nClick Here to Download Class Schedule \nThose who attend consecutive weeks have an   opportunity to share a few images from the prior week after an outing. However\, it is not necessary to attend every week to enjoy this program. \nNotes: \n¨ There are three days with longer photography periods and no classroom time. \n¨ Be prepared for the possibility of getting wet at any location featuring by water. \n¨ Essential items to bring include camera\, drinking water\, sunscreen\, insect repellent\, and maybe a tripod and a snack. \nCall 209-795-7980 for more information \n  \n
