DESCRIPTION:Start the New Year off with a hike at Calaveras Big Trees. \nJoin Ranger Barry Robertson on a “First Day” hike\, Monday January 1\, 2018 at 11 am. \nMeet in front of Jack Knight Hall for an easy walk  around the North Grove Campground exploring the history and the ecology of the wet meadow at Big Trees.  We will also discuss some of the history of the campground as it relates the Civilian Conservation Core and their influence on Calaveras Big Trees State Park. \nThings to Bring: Water\, layered clothing\, waterproof shoes/boots; be prepared for inclement weather and the need for snow oriented clothing. \nPlease call the Visitor Center with any questions 209.795.3840.
