DESCRIPTION:Start the New Year off with a visit to Calaveras Big Trees State Park \nThe Park will be open on January 1 = sunrise to sunset.  .  The Visitor Center is open 10 – 4.  The Warming Hut will be open 12 – 4.  Warm up with some hot chocolate or hot cider. \nCalifornia State Parks invites the public to start 2017 in a healthy way by connecting to nature\, and what better way to do so than participating in the fourth annual First Day Hikes. \nThere will be a guided walk starting at the Warming Hut at 1 pm.  There is snow on the ground so dress warmly and wear good footwear. \nHappy new Year to all!
