DESCRIPTION:Sorry – At the direction of DPR\, we have cancelled the remainder of the season because of the coronavirus. \nThe Warming Hut is open for the season on . It will be open for hot chocolate\, cider and a warm fire weekends and holidays from 12 pm – 4 pm. \nPlease stop by and say hello. \nThere will be a guided walk every Saturday at 1 pm. Depending on the conditions\, it may be a snowshoe walk. Calaveras Big Trees provides snowshoes at no charge. Our 20 adult pairs of snowshoes and 10 pairs of kids snowshoes are provided on a first-come first served basis.   Check in early to reserve your space and shoes. If there is not enough snow for a snowshoe walk\, make sure you have warm and waterproof shoes or boots. DESCRIPTION:Because of the Power outage\, this program has been cancelled. \nCome look at the stars! Docents will be sharing information and telling stories as everyone gazes at the night sky. Two telescopes and astronomical binoculars will give you a closer look at the moon\, planets and deep sky objects. \nWe’re excited to have a webcam for one of the telescopes\, so images can be shown on a 40” monitor in real time. No more standing in line to look through the big telescope! \nMeet us at the Scenic Overlook in the park\, just a few miles past the Visitor Center. This is one of the best night sky viewing areas in the region. Bring a chair or blanket to sit on. \nThe Astronomy program at the park is run entirely by docent volunteers with significant investment by the Calaveras Big Trees Association. \nPlease join us! \nPlease call 209-795-7980 with any questions.
