It updates and expands upon the General Plan and is intended to help guide park unit staff toward realizing its vision for interpretation. The Master Plan provides greater background and context\, while analyzing existing conditions and looking at opportunities and constraints for expanding interpretation and meeting visitor needs. A Master Plan offers recommendations for facilities\, media and programs\, with objectives and strategies that are in line with the park unit’s goals and guidelines. The Master Plan can be a stand-alone document or combined with an Action Plan. While you’re there\, you’ll discover all kinds of interesting creatures and learn about the role they play in creating a healthy ecosystem. Make sure you bring your water shoes and be prepared to get wet!\n.\nYou may remember that\, last year\, we had Creek Critter programs on Saturdays AND Tuesdays. For now\, Tuesday programs are TBD\, but watch this space for updates.\n.\nThe Beaver Creek Picnic Area is located about 9 miles down the Walter W. Smith Memorial Parkway\, so it might take you an extra 30 minutes to get there once you’ve entered the park – plan accordingly!\n.\nAlso keep in mind\, there may be one-way traffic control in some areas along the Parkway this weekend as our fire crews monitor and mop up the recent prescribed burn. If that is the case\, your arrival to Beaver Creek may be even further delayed by up to ten minutes.
